Tours

Visiting our Brown County, Indiana facilities is a great way to see birds of prey up close and learn about how we house, rehabilitate, and release injured and orphaned raptors. We offer tours of the center from March through July and September through November, by appointment, weather permitting. Tours are by reservation ONLY. Please call 812-988-8990 to make an appointment for a tour.

Tour Admission Fees

Our admission fees, which greatly help us in our mission of rescuing birds of prey, are as follows:

  • Adults (12 and older): $15
  • Children ages 6-11: $10

In order to ensure the safety of our resident birds of prey and visitors, no children under the age of 6, please.

Raptor Shows

All ages are welcome to our presentations at Brown County State Park.  Final park presentations for 2021 will be held on Saturday afternoons at 2pm at the Brown County State Park Nature Center.  This includes all 5 Saturdays in October (2nd,9th,16th,23rd,30th).  October 30th will be an all Owl show in honor of Halloween!    Starting in 2022, park presentations will be held twice a month on Saturday evenings, 7pm, location TBD.  Location may change with weather conditions, so be sure to check at the North Gate to the park or at the Abe Martin Lodge or Nature Center for up to the minute information on location and whether you need to bring blankets or lawn chairs.  Our team of expert educators and bird rescuers provide excellent insights into raptor biology, their roles in our environment, and the challenges they face in coexisting with humans.  Presentations are free, with donations accepted to help fund the Indiana Raptor Center rehabilitation of injured birds of prey.
